CyberHub Trust Events 2024

22 November 2024

Members of the CAA Cyber Security Oversight team, with the support of CAA STEM ambassadors, were asked to be part of a series of charity events being hosted in four colleges around the UK. The theme of these events was to showcase career opportunities for young people in cyber, security, and safety, with companies such as Curries, BAE Systems and IBM also in attendance.

These events provided the perfect proving ground to test the newly published Cyber Incident Response activity on the CAA STEM website, putting the students IT skills to the test through a series of puzzles in order to save the fictitious airline from hackers!

We had some excellent engagement from all four of the colleges and their students, with the winning time for completion currently set at 3 mins 52 secs by a student at Milton Keynes College, very impressive indeed and testament to the enthusiasm shown by all the young people who wanted to know more about the work we do.

There was also a panel Q&A session at each event, giving the students opportunity to ask questions around topics such as career pathways, relevant education and interview techniques.

Overall, a very rewarding set of events which not only gave the CAA a platform to showcase the work we do, but also highlight the wider opportunities available in the aerospace industry and hopefully inspire the next generation.
