The Big Bang Fair 2023
The Big bang Fair will be returned to Birmingham’s NEC on Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 June 2023. Young people from across the UK had the chance to be excited and amazed again by STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) at the return of The Big Bang Fair next year.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority attended the event, where we were given the opportunity to talk about careers in aviation. We also continued to showcase the Generation Aviation campaign with government and industry, which was created to help encourage young people to consider aviation careers.
Over the course of 3 days at the NEC, we welcomed 15,738 young people from 348 school groups and 2,384 teachers/parent/carers. This included 2,324 primary school pupils and of secondary school pupils, 62% came from our priority schools, those which meet EngineeringUK’s EDI criteria, those which meet EngineeringUK’s EDI criteria. Schools from across the country attended the Fair, with those from the Midlands accounting for around 2/3 of visitors. Based on data available, an even distribution of male and female students were present at the Fair.
Both the young people and teachers who visited were inspired and informed by the breadth of careers exhibited by you all from across science, technology, engineering and maths, through engaging interactive exhibits ranging from advanced engineering, environmental sciences, health careers and much more.
The CAA will be returning to the Big bang Fair in 2024. Find out more information here: The Big Bang Fair 2024 – The Big Bang
